At the age of nine, the maestro Osvaldo Marrapodi began attending ballet & contemporary dance classes at the Centro Cultural San Martín.

He studied music at the Instituto Nacional de Música during a period of 6 years where he obtained a degree in theory of music and graduated as a guitar teacher.

He met his great maestro and friend Pepito Avellaneda in 1966 at a canteen in La Boca where the great maestro was already dreaming of becoming famous, and they were inseparable until Pepito Avellaneda died in 1995.

His other great masters were Mingo Pugliese , Luis Grandona & Manuel salvador ("El Gallego"), with whom he also acquired a high level of apprenticeship.

Amongst all the places where Osvaldo Marrapodi has studied, stand out La Universidad del Tango & La Academia Nacional del Tango which was then located on the first floor of the Café Tortoni.
